Scouts will be taught the basics of horseback riding, care of a horse, horse and barn safety, proper tack, as well as basic vet care and rider first aid.
Scouts will then tack horses and ride in either English or Western seat. They will learn to mount, dismount, steer and even play games on horseback!

Double Rainbow Farm is a wonderful place to schedule a field trip! Schools, Homeschooling Groups, Family Reunions, Churches, Synagogues, Special Needs Organizations, and any group wanting to spend time at the farm are welcomed!
Visitors will tour the farm, meet and groom the horses and ponies, and have the opportunity to ride. Each field trip is planned according to the needs of its visitors, so be creative! After time at the barn, groups are invited to bring a lunch and spend some quiet time around the farm.

With our covered arena, field trips will be held rain or shine. All field trip participants are required to have a release form signed (available to download from our lessons page) by their parent or guardian prior to the day of the field trip. Safety is always a top priority. Riding helmets will be provided. Heeled boots are recommended. Everyone is encouraged to bring a water bottle and apply sunscreen.
