Lessons

Double Rainbow Farm provides a solid foundation of the basics of hunter seat equitation to our beginner students. Lessons are taught by one of our three USHJA Certified Instructors. Each student will begin with an orientation lesson to familiarize them with the barn and basic horse care, instruction and proper aftercare of horse and equipment. Western and other seats available upon request.

We offer group (up to 4 people), semi-private (1-2), and private (1 hour or 30 min.) instruction. You and your instructor can discuss what type of instruction will be most beneficial for you and your riding level. We can also schedule special group lessons so start planning your next date night, anniversary ride, or family outing!

Riders are asked to wear comfortable clothing and a heeled boot (no tennis shoes, high heels, or inside calf zippered boots), bring your ASTM/SEI approved helmet, a water during warmer months, and arrive 10-15 minutes before scheduled lessons in order to gather tack and grooming supplies. Helmets will be provided. Please bring signed Liability Release Forms (available for download on this page) to your first lesson.

For those with more experience, our instructors design a more challenging training program including the opportunity to compete at local, zone and national competitions.

Whatever your goals, we will help you achieve them and become the rider you want to be!
